Email/text support

1:1 mentoring sessions aren't for everyone; mentoring support by email or text can be an excellent alternative to video or voice call sessions, for the following reasons and more:

 

  • you'd like more time to reflect and process 

  • you find 1:1 interaction, especially in a set time slot, too demanding

  • you prefer communicating through text 

  • you have a hectic schedule or our working hours don't align

  • you take in information better through reading than listening

  • it's a more affordable option

How does it work?

Firstly, you'll need to book a free initial consultation, which can be done through forms/emailing/texting rather than a call, to discuss what you'd like support with, and how the support might look for you (e.g. will it be occasional, detailed messages or more frequent, shorter ones more like a conversation?).  You'll then purchase the plan here, and can then begin messaging!  

 

 

 

I generally aim to respond within 2 working days; however, this is only a guide.  It will likely be quicker for shorter messages, whilst for longer messages requiring more in depth replies, it may take longer - but I'll let you know if that's the case. 


Although responses will often be within my working hours, please note that some may be outside of my usual hours and could be at any time of day.

 

 

 

If you already recieve 1:1 sessions with me, just get in touch to discuss switching to email/text or creating a custom package of both 1:1 sessions and email/text support. 

How quickly will I get a response?

The content of my replies will vary depending on what we agreed in your consultation, and on the topic and situation you've contacted me about, but will be similar to the content of 1:1 sessions.  This may include:

 

  • my perspectives and thoughts

  • recommended sources of information or resources such as Youtube videos/social media posts/books

  • practical exercises or strategies to try

  • signposting to other services

  • chatting back and forth to talk through a situation

  • sharing of personal experiences and anecdotes

  • sharing relevant art, music, memes and other media

  • encouragement and affirmations

What if I don't feel I'm getting enough from the text support?

Please let me know if this is the case so we can discuss - you may benefit from 1:1 sessions instead or in addition to text support.

What if I need urgent/emergency support?

Mentoring is not a crisis service or emergency support option; in this situation you need to use emergency services, crisis lines or services or A&E.
