what do mentoring sessions look like?

Sessions are usually video-calls, but can be done with cameras off.  We typically start with a check-in to see how you’ve been and what’s been happening since we last spoke.  I’ll likely ask you what you’d like to focus on, and we’ll prioritise if there are multiple things you’d like to address.  The content depends on the topic, but generally includes discussion, sharing resources, exercises to support self-understanding or decision-making, validating feelings, finding and trying practical strategies to support daily life.

At the end of a session, we have a quick recap of what we’ve worked on, and I encourage you to identify 2-3 key points to consider between sessions.  I can then send you a summary email of what we discussed.

Support includes optional reviews at regular intervals to reflect on progress, long-term goals and whether you’re finding mentoring helpful.

How we use the time is completely up to you.  If you’d prefer your sessions to look different to what I’ve described, or need some suggestions or guidance, that’s fine.

The time is yours - you can eat, stim, swear, show me your pets, show up in your pajamas, move around, whatever makes you most comfortable.
