specialist mentoring for neurodivergent adults
inclusivity - authenticity - autonomy - self-advocacy

about me
Jade Harlow BSc
Hi! I'm Jade, an autistic/ADHD mentor with a passion for improving the quality of life and confidence of my clients.
I combine my expertise from lived experience, a Masters degree in Inclusion (graduating in December) and years in disability support to help people work with their strengths, develop skills and manage difficulties.
who I work with
I support adults of any age who are neurodivergent, or are exploring whether they might be neurodivergent - it doesn't matter if someone has a diagnosis or not. I have worked with people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, sensory processing differences, mental health conditions, brain injuries and more. Many of my clients identify as LGBTQIA+, and as a queer person with lived experience and academic expertise in alternative relationship styles, I consider my service highly inclusive of Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity.
My clients often include people experiencing burn-out or looking for strategies to manage difficulties in education or work, but also those who are looking to maintain a routine, develop new skills or dedicate some time to themselves for self-care or personal development. Mentoring can be a good fit for people experiencing transitions they'd like help navigating, looking for practical strategies to support with day-to-day activities or wanting a space to explore their identity.
I'm open to working with anyone interested in my support who feels like I could be a good fit for them - I believe a positive relationship is the key to successful mentoring!
"Jade has been acting as a mentor to me for several years now and has been an incredible support with my late diagnosis of ASD. Not only has she helped me to better understand my Autism, but also to understand myself on a deeper level.
Her compassion, insight, and encouragement have been critical in shaping me into the strong and confident person I am today. She has always supported me without judgment, and her sessions are something I truly look forward to.
The positive impact of her guidance has extended far beyond our meetings into my everyday life, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for support in their own journey."

how I work
I believe that neurodivergence is a natural and valuable part of human diversity. We have unique ways of experiencing and interacting with the world, including our personal strengths and difficulties. I love to support people to identify and apply their abilities and skills, increase self-understanding and develop confidence. However, I also believe that it's perfectly valid to not be working towards self-improvement, and to desire maintenance, not growth. I recognise that neurodivergence can be a disability, and I support my clients to navigate challenges.
My mentoring style is quite relaxed, and the sessions can be really fun! There's some structure but I work flexibly to meet my clients' needs and wishes - ultimately, how we use the time, and how I help, is up to you. I'm always looking for creative, new solutions and activities, and I'm not afraid to be told that something doesn't interest you or doesn't work. You know yourself best!

a bit more about me
Hi! I'm Jade. I'm late-diagnosed autistic/ADHD, and I have lived experience of chronic physical and mental illness.
I'll be graduating with an MA in Inclusion (disability support) in December and I've worked in mental health, autism and complex disability support roles since 2018. For two years, I mentored university students, and now I work for myself.
Pottery is my favourite creative outlet, and videogames are how I like to relax. I also adore animals and love to see my clients' pets! I have a rescue greyhound called Wednesday.
I love learning, research and keeping my brain active
with cryptic crosswords and learning Norwegian
Bokmål, as well as reading and trainings for
professional development. My favourite place I've
visited is Tromsø and the surrounding area in northern Norway, where I was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights!
